DUSHANBE, July 9, 2008,  Asia-Plus -- On July 8, President Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of condolences to his Afghan counterpart, President Hamid Karzai, over Monday’s devastating bombing that killed 41 people and wounded 141 in Kabul, presidential press service said.   

The telegram, in particular, said that the Tajik people was shocked to know about the tragic incident causing numerous casualties.   

This incident points once again to the necessity of conducting relentless fight against terrorism, President Rahmon stressed in his message.   The Tajik head of state also expressed his deep condolences to the families and friends of those who had been killed in the bombing.   

We will recall that a suicide car bomb hit the Indian Embassy in Kabul on Monday, killing 41 people and wounding 141.   According to international media, five embassy staff - India ''s military and press attaches, two Indian guards and an Afghan employee -- were among those killed in Monday’s bombing.
