DUSHANBE, July 11, 2008, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon today morning went to the city of Tursunzoda, some 46 kilometers west of Dushanbe.
According to presidential press service, the purpose of the visit is for the president to get acquainted with socioeconomic situation in the city and the district of Tursunzoda.
During his stay in Tursunzoda, President Rahmon is expected to inaugurate a number of new facilities, including presidential lyceum for gifted children and school # 13, in the cities.
Construction of the presidential lyceum for gifted children has been funded by Tajikistan Aluminum Company (Talco) that has allocated 2.6 million somonis for this project, Abdulloyev said. The lyceum will accommodate 320 pupils.
School # 13 consists of three two-story buildings to accommodate totaling 640 pupils. The Tursunzoda budget ahs allocated 4 million somonis for construction of this school.
The president will return to Dushanbe in the afternoon.
