DUSHANBE, January 22, 2009, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon yesterday congratulated Barack Obama on his inauguration as the new President of the United States, according to presidential press service.
In his message of congratulations, Rahmon, in particular, noted that bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the United States were developing thoroughly and had tendency towards development in various directions, the press service said.
The Tajik head of state expressed readiness to boost cooperation with the United States in interest of both countries. Rahmon wished Barack Obama every success in his work as the President of the United States.
