DUSHANBE, February 5, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Akramsho Felalishoyev, Mahmad Rahimov and Rahmonali Umarov have held meetings with voters in Roudaki, Shahrinav, Fayzobod, Bokhtar and Vose districts to discuss the draft law on dehqon (peasant) farms, Asia-Plus has learned from Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the parliament’s lower house.
According to him, parliamentarians promised representatives of dehqon farms to take into consideration their proposals while considering the law.
MPs will hold similar meetings with voters in other regions of the country as well, the spokesman said.
