DUSHANBE, April 7 2009, Asia-plus -- Effects of the crisis have become deeper in Tajikistan since the end of last year and implementation of investment projects in the country could help mitigate the crisis effects and reduce the number of unemployed, President Emomali Rahmon remarked at an April 6 enlarged session of the government reviewing the progress of implementation of investment projects.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of state noted that Tajikistan strongly depended on external factors, especially in issues related to pricing. “Under conditions of the crisis, competition with neighboring countries for attraction of foreign investments will rise and we should be ready for such a competition,” the president said.
According to him, Tajikistan has to develop an equity market. “This year will be difficult for national economy and I hope that combing our efforts, we will come out of the situation with credit,” Rahmon stated.
