DUSHANBE, May 5, 2009, Asia-Plus - On Monday May 4, Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev held a meeting to discuss work of municipal facilities and the progress of preparation of events to celebrate Victory Day in the city.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that senior representatives of the mayor’s office and heads of Dushanbe’s districts were charged to visit 310 veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 living in Dushanbe and provide financial assistance to them.
The mayor also demanded at the meeting that all necessary measures should be taken to resume functioning of Dushanbe’s bus terminal.
Besides, by mayor’s decision a work schedule was set for the Dushanbe automobile sales market. Under this schedule, Monday is a cleanup day, trucks are sold on Tuesdays, buses and minivans are sold on Wednesdays, cars manufactured last year are sold on Thursdays, and cars manufactured more than a year ago are sold on Saturdays and Sundays.
The mayor’s office is currently considering the issue of construction of a new automobile sales market in Dushanbe, the spokesman said.
