DUSHANBE, May 27, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) have confirmed president’s edict on appointment of Zarif Alizoda, formerly State Adviser to the Tajik President for Legal Matters and President’s Representative to Parliament, as the Ombudsman of Tajikistan.
A regular sitting of the fifth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the third convocation was held on May 27.
MPs also considered and endorsed amendments to the country’s laws on the procedure of solution of issues concerning administrative-territorial division of Tajikistan, joint-stock companies, weapons, and culture. They also endorsed the bill on mutual insurance.
