DUSHANBE, May 27, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- President Rahmon received a group of heads of delegations of 12 countries, including Greece, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, the United States, Finland, and Russia, to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and representatives from the OSCE Conflict Prevention Center Tuesday evening.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with President Rahmon, the Chairperson of the Permanent Council, Greek Ambassador Mara Marinaki, noted that the purpose of the visit is for the delegation to participate at a ceremony of opening of the Border Management Staff College in Dushanbe that is established under support of OSCE.

According to her, Tajikistan plays a special role in strengthening of border and security in Central Asia and the OSCE helps the country in this direction.

“As Greek Ambassador to the OSCE, I informed the president of Tajikistan that Greek foreign minister will visit your country this year for the purpose of establishing bilateral cooperation with Tajikistan,” Ms. Marinaki said.
