DUSHANBE, June 9, 2009, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon started a working visit to the southern Khatlon province today morning.
The Khuroson district that was hit the most by heavy rains and resulting mudslides in April-May this year is the first leg of Rahmon’s visit to Khatlon, according to presidential press service. The president has got acquainted with the pace of work on removing effects of the disasters and providing assistance to the disaster-hit population of Khuroson district.
During his visit to Khatlon, Rahmon will also familiarize himself with socioeconomic situation of a number of local districts and cities.
