DUSHANBE, August 25, 2009, Asia-Plus -- An August 24 meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office considered issued related to preparation of the city for winter, according to the mayor’s office press service.
Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev demanded at the meeting that adequate measures should be given to ensure the preparation of the city for winter by September 14.
The meeting also considered the animal control issues and the mayor ordered to organize special centers for the catching, keeping and neutralization of stray dogs. The municipal veterinary service is to prepare appropriate documents for registration of family dogs and cats in Dushanbe.
The mayor also ordered relevant bodies to control the implementation of recommendations on lowering prices of basic food products at the city’s bazaars during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, the press services said.
