DUSHANBE, September 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev yesterday endorsed the program, Lighting 2009-2013, according to the press service of the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

The program is aimed at implementation of president’s decree on nationwide shift to the energy-saving light bulbs.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that under the program, all lamps for public lighting in the city would be replaced with energy-saving light lamps.  According to him, the Dushanbe finance department is to earmark funds for implementation of the program in the city’s budget for 2010-2013.
