DUSHANBE, September 22, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) yesterday departed for the regions to hold meetings with their voters.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the main purpose of the meeting was for MPs to explain their positions on their topical issues of life of the country to their voters.
“A number of meetings were already held yesterday in several districts of the northern Sughd province,” said the spokesman, “Employment, labor migration, use of energy-saving light bulbs, as well as preparations for winter were among major topics of those meetings.”
The meetings with voters will last though September and the next sixth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the third convocation will be opened on October 1, 2009.
