DUSHANBE, October 21, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Adequate preparation of Dushanbe for winter was the focus of an October 19 meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, said that heads of Dushanbe’s heating and power plant, power systems and the municipal natural-gas distributor had reported on measures taken to ensure regular work of their facilities in autumn-winter 2009-2010.

A special commission is to insect preparedness of residential buildings and economic entities for heating season until November 1.

Chairmen of Dushanbe’s districts and heads of relevant municipal services were charged to inspect targeted use of land plots in the city, the spokesman said.
