DUSHANBE, November 11, 2009 Asia-Plus -- A regular sitting of the sixth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) of the third convocation that is being held today will consider the draft law on the national budget for 2010.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that following the approval of the agenda, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov would make a speech and Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov would present the 2010 budget bill.
Under the draft law, Tajikistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to reach 24.5 billion somoni this year. The national budget for 2010 is projected to stand at 6.537 billion somoni, and inflation is expected to stand at 7 percent this year. Compared to this year, the revenue part of the budget is expected to increase by 659 million somoni, or 27 percent, while the expenditure part is expected to increase by 748.5 million somoni.
