DUSHNBE, February 22, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- An enlarged meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, presided over by Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, took place on February 22.

According to the Dushanbe mayor’s office press service, the meeting discussed issues related to implementation of the concept of arrangement of green places in the city, the sanitary situation, passenger transport services, repairing roads  and providing the population with safe drinking water.

The mayor charged relevant municipal services to ensure improvement of the city through organizing subbotniks (days of volunteer work) and take the arrangement of green places, the maintenance of public order and the improvement of the sanitary situation under control.

The meeting also discussed preparations for the Navrouz holiday.  This year, celebrations dedicated to the Navrouz holiday will be held on March 21 in Dushanbe’s Botanical Gardens and on March 22 in the city’s neighborhoods.  A festive concert will take place at Dushanbe’s Amphitheatre on March 24.

Besides, Tajik national wrestling competitions and horse race will be organized in Dushanbe on March 21.  The prize for the wrestling competition winner will be Roghun shares for 15,000 somoni and the horse race winner will get shares in Roghun for 5,000 somoni, the press service said.
