DUSHANBE, February 24, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Speaking at the last sitting of the outgoing Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), its speaker, Saydullo Khairulloyev today reported on the results of work of the Majlisi Namoyandagon over the past five years.
He assessed work of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the third convocation as positive and stressed that laws passed by the parliament over the past five years meet expectations and interests of voters.
“Over the report five-year period, the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the third convocation has adopted 40 Constitutional laws, 103 laws and 63 addenda and changes to various country’s codes, 273 amendments to laws and ratified 158 agreements and protocols,” Khairulloyev said.
Over the report period, the parliament’s lower house has considered 4,599 written and 14,753 oral applications from citizens, he noted.
