DUSHANBE, July 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon yesterday signed 30 laws adopted by Parliament this year, according to presidential press service.
The president, in particular, signed laws on technology park, poultry as well as amendments to the country’s laws on education and holidays and family code.
Under the law on amendments to the country’s education legislation, 12-year secondary education will be introduced in the country.
The amendments to family code provide for raising the minimum marriage age for women from 17 to 18 years starting January 1, 2011.
Under the amendments made to the country’s law on holidays, State Language Day is now celebrated on October 5. Before that, Tajikistan celebrated State Language Day on July 22 (Tajik was designated as the state language on July 22, 1989).
