DUSHANBE, September 28, 2010, Asia-Pus -- Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev yesterday received 26 residents of the city, whose complaints and applications over their housing conditions have remained unsolved after their meetings with chairmen of Dushanbe’s districts and deputy mayors.
The citizens asked the mayor to assist with solving issues related to improvement of their housing conditions and allotment of lands for housing, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, said.
According to him, the mayor’s office decided to provide apartments from the municipal housing stock under lease only to employees of organizations funded from the city’s budget on the ground of resolution of an appropriate commission.
“Yesterday’s meeting also resolved the problems related to demolition of 31 houses in the area of the Dushanbe cement plant,” said the spokesman. “Parcels for construction of new houses will be allotted to owners of the houses that will be demolished.”
