DUSHANBE, October 29, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev has sent all applications from Dushanbe residents lodged against the construction company, Movarounnahr, to the Dushanbe prosecutor’s office, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, told reporters on October 28.
In their applications, the city residents, who invested in construction of apartment buildings, say the company has not provided apartments to them.
“The mayor has taken the issue under his control and sent the applications to the Dushanbe prosecutor’s office, requesting to probe into them,” said the spokesman, “They mayor will not allow appearance of pyramid scheme engaged fraudulent organizations in the city.”
The head of the Committee for Construction and Architecture, Abduuvali Komilov, told reporters last week, that the construction company, Movarounnahr, may be declared bankrupt due to serious financial problems. He noted that further construction of facilities by that company was in doubt.
