DUSHANBE, November 10, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The Regulations Review Commission within the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) is currently studying the issue of making amendments to the Majlisi Namoyandagon’s regulations.
Under the amendments offered to parliament’s regulations, members of the Majlisi Namoyandagon must hold meetings with their voters at least five times a year, Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said.
Most likely, these amendments will take effect at the beginning of the next year. Under the current regulations, members of the Majlisi Namoyandagon meet with their voters only twice a year.
