DUSHANBE, January 20, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Today’s government meeting, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, discussed issues related to the current situation in Rasht Valley and ways to ensure socioeconomic and cultural development of this region, according to the presidential press service.
President Rahmon ordered relevant government bodies to increase volumes of bank loans provided to residents and enterprises of the region. The president, in particular, asked to lower interest rates on loans provided in the region.
Besides, by president’s order 64 additional classrooms will be built at general schools in the region and 2,400 textbooks will be sent there in the near future.
Rahmon also ordered to solve the issue of reconstruction of the central 4,000-seat stadium in the Rasht district by September this year.
New educational building and sports hall of the Branch of Tajik State Teachers’ Training University in Rasht are to be put into commission this year and the second dormitory for its students will be put into commission in 2012.
The meeting also considered issues of providing the district printing house with modern equipment, reconstructing local amusement park and providing the Rasht folk theatre with costumes and sound equipment.
The head of state also ordered relevant agencies to improve national TV and radio broadcasting in Rasht Valley and consider the issue of constructing small power plants and farm-produce-processing enterprises in the region, repairing local roads, etc.
Relevant ministries and agencies were given ten days to develop the plan of actions to ensure implementation of president’s orders.
