DUSHANBE, January 27, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Measures taken by municipal authorities to regulate street trade in Dushanbe will also affect street vendors selling newspapers, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, told a news conference eon January 26.
According to him, municipal authorities have ordered to organize special sites for selling newspapers in all seven underground passages, as well as in the Mir Poligrafii (World of Polygraphy) shop located in the Poytakht-80 housing estate, 23 book shops, supermarkets and shopping centers.
The mayor’s office, however, does not prohibit sidewalk vendors from selling newspapers, Saidov added.
