KHUJAND, March 26, 2011, Asia-Plus -- On Saturday March 26, President Emomali Rahmon visited the National Vahdat (Unity) Garden in Bobojonghafurov district, Sughd province.
According to the Sughd regional administration press center, the garden was laid out on 631 hectares in the Somgor area on president’s initiative last year. Sixteen types of fruit trees (the total number of trees is 21,000) were planted in the area.
33 gardeners taking care of the Vahdat Garden plan to plant 31,000 more fruit threes this year, the source said.
According to the presidential press service, President Rahmon will leave for Iran today afternoon to attend Navrouz celebrations that will take lace in Tehran and Shiraz today and tomorrow.
