DUSHANBE, August 29, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The World Bank provides 60 million U.S. dollars to Tajikistan for budget support.
This year, financial support of the Word Bank to Tajikistan has risen 25 percent as compared with 2010, according to the presidential press service.
At the end of last week, President Emomali Rahmon received visiting World Bank Executive Director Jorg Frieden.
In the course of the talks, Mr. Frieden reportedly informed President Rahmon that the World Bank would annually provide some 60 million U.S. dollars in a form of grant to Tajikistan for budget support and other matters, the source said.
The sides also discussed issues related to the establishment of a common energy market in the Central Asian region and assessment studies for the Roghun hydroelectricity project.
