DUSHANBE, September 12, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered the issue of ratification of an agreement between the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member nations on joint military exercises at a September 12 meeting, presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon Speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the board also discussed the draft law on fortification of wheat flour with vitamin and mineral additives as well as draft laws on making amendments to the country’s laws on provision of pensions and legal status of foreign citizens in Tajikistan.
The board also considered issue related to ratification of the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan on providing no-strings attached military aid to Tajikistan and the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Switzerland on encouragement and mutual protection of investments, Sultonov said.
