DUSHANBE, November 16, 2011, 2011, Asia-Plus  -- On Wednesday November 17, Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament endorsed the bill requiring amendments to the country’s air code without any discussions.

Presenting the bill, Mahmad Rahimov, the director of the Lawmaking Center under the President of Tajikistan, noted that the amendments were made in the line with fulfillment by Tajikistan of its international obligations on the observance of aviation regulations.

“When the amendments come into effect, persons found guilty of any infringement or crime connected with illegal entry into Tajikistan’s airspace will bear criminal liability,” Rahimov noted.

According to him, the amendments also provide for construction of private airfields and permission to buy aircraft.
