DUSHANBE, November 21, 2011 Asia-Plus -- The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered a draft law on concessions at a November 21 meeting, presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon Speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the board also considered changes and addenda proposed to the laws on legal status of deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon and member of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), quarantine of plants, as well as the law on ensuring sanitary and epidemiological safety of the population.
These bills and ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy ad Industries of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India on modernization of the Varzob-1 hydroelectric power plant (HPP) have been tabled to the agenda of the next regular sitting of the third session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth convocation that will take place on the following Wednesday, Sultonov said.
