DUSHANBE, December 27, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The parliamentary hearing on the targeted use of budgetary funds by the Ministry of Land Reclamation and Water Resources (LRWR) over the first eleven months of this year was conducted on December 26.
“According to Said Yoqubzod, the head of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on Agrarian Issues and Environment, 21,246,754 somoni have been allocated to the ministry over the report period and all the funds have been drawn to this day,” Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said.
In his speech, Yoqubzod noted that one of the main problems facing the sector was insufficient financing of the national water economy development support programs.
Minister of Land Reclamation and Water Resources, Rahmat Bobokalonov, speaking at the meeting assured that all budgetary funds would be spent properly.
