DUSHANBE, February 28, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Parliamentary hearing on a draft law on pre-school education and upbringing have been held.
The Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy hosted the meeting on February 28.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the meeting participants included representatives from relevant ministries and bodies as well as international organizations active in the country.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Marhabo Jabborova, Chairperson of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy, reportedly noted that pre-school education was an important element of the education system and its efficient activity paved the way for other levels of education. “If we want the country to have skilled specialists, we must create favorable conditions for upbringing and education of the rising generation,” Ms. Jabborova noted.
