Jamoliddin Ubaidulloev, son of chairman of the Upper Chamber of Tajikistan’s Parliament and Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsayeed Ubaidulloev, was appointed head of the Consular Department of the Tajik Foreign Ministry. Related decision was made half a year ago but the information has become available just now.
As reported by Tajik Foreign Ministry, prior to this appointment Jamoliddin Ubaidulloev served in the Tajik Foreign Ministry’s Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation.
In August last year Tajik President appointed another son of Dushanbe Mayor Amirjon Ubaidulloev Tajikistan’s Representative in the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Amirjon Ubaidulloev replaced Emomali Rahmon’s son-in-law Jamoliddin Nuraliev who was appointed first deputy Minister of Finance.
Previously Tajik Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department was headed by Bahrom Holnazarov who, according to Ozodi radio, is son-in-law of Tajikistan President’s brother. Currently he serves as Tajik Ambassador to Kazakhstan. The Consular Department was also headed by Tajik President’s daughter Ozoda Rahmonova who in 2009 was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister.
Mahmadsayeed Ubaidulloev serves as Dushanbe Mayor for more than 15 years. In 2000 he was appointed chairman of the Majlisi Mili of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan.
