DUSHANBE, June 15, 2012 Asia-Plus -- Members of Tajikistan’s upper house (Majlisi Milli) of parliament have unanimously seconded government’s decree on changing administrative boundaries of the Danghara district, Khatlon province.
The session of the Majlisi Milli, presided over by its head, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, was held in Dushanbe on June 14.
The administrative territory of the Danghara district is increased by 2,231.5 hectares at the expense of nearby districts.
The government’s decree provides for ceding 887.57 hectares subordinate to the town of Darband, 481.2 hectares of the Yovon district and 872.79 hectares of the Jomi district.
We will recall that one of the powers of the Majlisi Milli is formation and abolition, and change of administrative-territorial units of the country.
Besides, the Majlisi Milli members seconded the government’s decree on renaming some settlements in the Vanj district of Gorno Badakhshan and in several districts of Khatlon province.
