DUSHANBE, September 25, 2012, Asia-Plus -- A Kyrgyz parliamentary delegation, led by Nazarali Aripov, Head of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Parliamentary Friendship Group in Zhokorku Kenesh (Kyrgyzstan’s parliament), is arriving in Dushanbe today.
Kyrgyz MPs are expected to hold talks with Ms. Khairinisso Yusufi, Chairperson of the Tajik-Kyrgyz Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament).
In the afternoon, the Majlisi Namoyandagon Speaker, Shukurjon Zuhurov, will receive the Kyrgyz delegation.
The Supreme Council (Zhokorku Kenesh) is the unicameral Parliament of Kyrgyzstan. It has 120 seats with members elected for a five-year term by party-list proportional voting.
