DUSHANBE, May 7, 2013, Asia-Plus – The consular office at the Dushanbe airport has reportedly resumed its work.
Mansour Hakimov, the head of the consular office at the Dushanbe airport says the consular office resumed its work on May 6. “The office now works in full volume and issuance of entry visas at the airport has been resumed,” Hakimov said.
We will recall that Tajikistan temporarily suspended issuance of entry visas at the Dushanbe airport on April 22.
According to the Tajik authorities, the issuance of entry visas at the airport was temporarily suspended for technical reasons -- lack of communications between the consular office at Dushanbe International Airport and the MFA Consular Directorate.
Some sources, however, attributed the suspension to a conference the Islamic Revival Party (IRP) was scheduled to hold on April 27 on occasion of its 40th founding anniversary.
