DUSHANBE, May 22, 2013, Asia-Plus -- On Wednesday May 22, Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament ratified the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Finland on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital gains that was signed in Helsinki, Finland in October 2012.
Speaking at the Majlisi Namoyandagon session, Tajik Minister of Finance, Safarali Najmiddinov, expressed confidence that ratification of the agreement will promote expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in energy, tourism, agrarian and mining sectors.
“To-date, Tajikistan has signed similar agreements with 25 countries of the world and practice of implementation of these agreements has shown that they further development of trade, attraction of investments and strengthening of economic ties,” the minister added.
