DUSHANBE, July 5, 2013, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon today morning left for the southern province of Khatlon.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the main purpose of the visit is for the president to get acquainted with the conditions of life in the province and inaugurate a number of new economic and social facilities.

While in Qurghon Teppa, the administrative center of Khatlon President Rahmon attended a simultaneous wedding ceremony for ten couples and a simultaneous ceremony of circumcision of 150 children from vulnerable families.  The president reportedly handed over gifts to the couples and the boys.

The president also inaugurated a modern driving training ground and tennis court in Qurghon Teppa.

While in the Bokhtar district, Rahmon got acquainted with local farming units and attended a ceremony of opening of a modern water park.
