DUSHANBE, September 7, 2013, Asia-Plus – President Emamali Rahman received the UK Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and Minister for Faith and Communities, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.
The President''s press office reports that issues related to bilateral cooperation of two states in political, economic, trade, and cultural spheres were discussed during the meeting.
The need to develop legal framework between the countries that could help the development of Tajikistan and UK relations. The parties spoke about signing the proposed intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in economic, scientific and technical spheres, on promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, on avoidance of double taxation, and on establishing air services.
According to the published information, issues of providing regional security, cooperation of the parties in the revival of Afghan economy, as well as peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.
