DUSHANBE, October 9, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday October 9, President Emomali Rahmon visited a farm produce exhibition in Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
According to the Tajik president’s official website, local farmers have displayed vegetables, fruits, medicinal herbs, baked goods and candies at the fair.
President Rahmon reportedly bought herbal medicines from local female entrepreneur Vasila Ghafourova.
Ms. Vasila Ghafourova sells some of her herbal medicines, especially those made from sea buckthorn, to European countries, the website reported.
Organizers of the fair note that dried fruits produced in the area meet international standards and they are exported to other countries.
Thus, local small enterprises produce mulberry halvahs and candies and entrepreneurs from Turkey, Italy and Germany purchase them with pleasure, the website said.
