DUSHANBE, October 12, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has visited the city Isfara, Sughd province, the Tajik president’s official website reported on October 12.
President Rahmon reportedly began his trip to Isfara with visit to the Chorkuh and Surkh jamoats, where a number of social and cultural facilities were put in commission.
While in Chorkuh, the president attended a ceremony of an official opening of a new school in the village of Langar.
2.65 million somoni have reportedly been spent for construction of this school that will accommodate 720 pupils in two shifts.
In the village of Navobod, President Rahmon inaugurated the production and domestic service center that had been built by local entrepreneur Abdurofe Qosimov.
The center that will produce dried fruits has already concluded cooperation contracts with Belarus, Poland and the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania).
The head of state visited a number of dehqon (peasant) farms in the Chorkuh and Surkh jamoats.
Emomali Rahmon also attended ceremonies of opening of a number of fruit-processing enterprises, a new stadium and the building of the branch of the Tojik Sodirot Bonk (TSB) in the city of Isfara.
On Saturday, the president also met with administrators of the city of Isfara, the president’s website reports.
