DUSHANBE, October 14, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Dushanbe mayor has reportedly ordered to take adequate preparations to ensure the regular work of the city’s economy during the upcoming winter, which is expected to be abnormally cold.
Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev has signed a decision on preparations for prevention of emergency situations that may occur during the upcoming winter.
An official source at the Dushanbe mayor’s office says that according to the weather forecast the upcoming winter is expected to be abnormally cold and lingering: from November through February.
The mayor has ordered his deputies, heads of Dushanbe’s districts and managers of relevant municipal agencies to take adequate measures to ensure the implementation of the Dushanbe mayor’s office decision of April 18, 2013 on urgent measures to prepare Dushanbe for autumn-winter 2013-2014, the source said.
Relevant municipal bodies have reportedly been ordered to check preparedness of the city’s power and water systems as well as passenger transport services for the upcoming winter.
