DUSHANBE, December 5, 2013, Asia-Plus /Avaz Yuldoshev/ -- A new five-storey building and several other facilities of Tajik special police unit, OMON, were put in commission in Dushanbe on December 5.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, President Emomali Rahmon attended a ceremony of an official opening of those facilities.
The head of state reportedly congratulated the special police unit officers on the 18th anniversary of the establishment of their unit.
Established on December 5, 1995, OMON (OMON is the Russian abbreviation of Special Purpose Unit of Police) is the system of special units of police within the Tajik Ministry of Interior (MoI).
