DUSHANBE, January 25, 2014, Asia-Plus – By president’s decree Colonel-General Sherali Khairulloyev, who had previously served as Minister of Defense, has been appointed the Aide to the President for Security Affairs, Tajik president’s official website reported on January 25.
We will recall that President’s Executive Office has been reorganized and the apparatus of presidential state advisors has been reorganized into the apparatus of presidential aides.
Tajikistan''s longtime defense minister, Sherali Khairulloyev, 64, who occupied that position for more than 18 years, was replaced on November 20, 2013. His position was filled by Sherali Mirzo, formerly commander of Tajik Border Forces.
Sherali Khairulloyev was born in the Danghara district (Khatlon province) on November 8, 1949. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Tajik National University in 1970.
From 1970 to 1977, Khairulloyev served with financial and food units of the Soviet Army.
In 1977-1988, he served with the Penitentiary System of the Interior Ministry of the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic.
From 1989 to 1995, Sherali Khairulloyev served as Deputy Interior Minister of Tajikistan.
From 1995 to November 2013, Sherali Khairulloyev served as Minister of Defense of Tajikistan.
Sherali Khairulloyev married with three children.
