DUSHANBE, March 14, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Deputies of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament have unanimously endorsed the draft law on state protection and support for entrepreneurship.
A regular sitting of the fifth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth convocation took place on March 14.
Presenting the bill, the head of the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), Qodir Qosim, noted that it was aimed at promoting further development of the private sector in Tajikistan, creation of new jobs and attraction of investments.
According to him, the draft law provides for establishment of the State Entrepreneurship Support Fund. “The so-called business incubators will support entrepreneurial companies in the country,” GosKomInvest head noted.
Business incubators are programs designed to support the successful development of entrepreneurial companies through an array of business support resources and services, developed and orchestrated by incubator management and offered both in the incubator and through its network of contacts. Incubators vary in the way they deliver their services, in their organizational structure, and in the types of clients they serve.
“Last year, the national budget spent 28 million somoni for providing preferential loans to the small and medium-sized enterprises,” said Qosim. “This year’s budget has earmarked 30 million somoni for these purposes.”
