DUSHANBE, July 1, 2014, Asia-Plus – Shukurjon Zuhurov, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), considers that some countries want to destabilize the situation.
He stated this at a regular sitting of the fifth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth convocation that took place in Dushanbe on June 30.
It was the last meeting of Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament before its summer recession.
Speaking at the session, Zuhurov, in particular, noted, “There are disorders in the world and some countries want to draw us into these disorders.”
He called on parliamentarians to take efforts to withstand these tendencies and strengthen peace in the country.
“When it comes to the protection of our national interests, all our parliamentarians are on common ground irrespective of their political affiliation,” the parliament speaker stated.
We will recall that in a statement delivered at a conference in Dushanbe, the head of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), Saymumin Yatimov, noted on June 19 that foreign spies are operating in Tajikistan under the guise of NGOs and trying to undermine safety and security in the country.
