DUSHANBE, December 27, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Manouchehr Mahmoudov, formerly head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), has been appointed to head the Department for International Cooperation at the Prosecutor-General’s Office.
Abdulfayz Atoyev, the head of the Tajik MFA Information Department, has confirmed this information.
According to some sources, Manouchehr Mahmoudov is the son of Mahkamboy Mahmoudov, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Tajikistan.
Manouchehr Mahmoudov had served as head the MFA Consular Department since December 2013. He had previously headed the Consular Section at the Tajik Embassy in Washington and head of the MFA Territorial ad Border Dispute Settlement Department.
