DUSHANBE, February 19, 2015, Asia-Plus -- An operation carried out by officers from the Interior Ministry drug enforcement department in Khatlon’s Farkhor district on February 18 led to the arrest of a 48-year-old local resident on suspicion of drug trafficking, according to the Interior Ministry press center.
More than 30 kilograms of cannabis were confiscated from him, the source noted.
On the same day, officers from the police station in the Rushan district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) detained Afghan national Ashraf waladi Muborakqadam. A package of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 250 grams was confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddlers and an investigation is under way, the source said.
