DUSHANBE, July 9, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon yesterday met in Ufa, the capital of Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan with representatives of Tajik diasporas in Volga region, Ural and Siberia, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
More than 150 fellow countrymen, including 60 Tajik students, attended the meeting. The president informed them about achievements made by Tajikistan in recent years and mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
Rahmon also informed those present about his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and said that Russia would increase a student quota for Tajikistan.
Rahmon reportedly called on meeting participants and all Tajiks living in Russia not to succumb to ideas of extremist and terrorist organizations.
