DUSHANBE, July 15, 2015, Asia-Plus – President Emomali Rahmon today is paying working visit to the city of Roghun, where he already attended an official ceremony of opening of a new school, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
A four-story building of the new school is designed to accommodate 1,300 pupils and a total area of the school territory is 3.6 hectares.
Rahmon will also inaugurate a number of other important social facilities in the city and will meet with the city administrators.
The president reportedly also plans to visit the site for construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP).
The Roghun HPP is expected to have a reservoir with multi-year regulation mode with a dam height of 335 m, located on the Vakhsh River upstream of the existing Nurek HPP cascade. The installed capacity is proposed to be 6x600 MW (totaling 3,600 MW) and the annual power generation would be 13,300 GWh.
