DUSHANBE, October 1, 2015, Asia-Plus -- A new parliamentary session started today after the summer recess.
A number of cooperation agreements have been tabled to the agenda of the first regular sitting of the second session of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says parliamentarians are considering issues related to the ratification of a grant agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the the project for improvement of Dushanbe International Airport, a grant agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the road maintenance project and a loan agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and the EBRD on the Dushanbe-Tursunzoda-Uzbek Border highway rehabilitation project.
Parliamentarians are also considering the ratification of a financing agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and the International Development Association (IDA) on the project for development of transport communication in Central Asia, Sultonov said.
According to him, the issue of Tajikistan’s joining the International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs procedures (Kyoto Convention) has also been tabled to the agenda of today’s sitting.
