DUSHANBE, November 5, 2015, Asia-Plus – On Thursday November 5, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon congratulated Tajikistanis on the 21st anniversary of the adoption of Tajikistan’s post-Soviet Constitution.

In his televised message, Rahmon in particular, noted, “The people of Tajikistan, adopting the Constitution in an extremely critical period, have shown once again that no difficulties and problems, including the awful civil war forced upon our country and people from outside, will be able to make our peace-loving people stray from the right path of construction of modern national state.”

“The adoption of the Constitution by means of free expression of popular will is the evidence of culture and advanced views of the Tajik people,” the president said.

According to him, the main foundations of civil society have been created in Tajikistan that is evidence of the thorough implementation of principles of political pluralism.

“In its foreign policy, Tajikistan adheres to the open doors policy and is ready to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with states and international organizations on the basis of the principle of equality and respect for sovereignty,” Rahmon noted.

He further added that the system of national legislation had been adapted to the Constitution’s provisions.

“During the period of independence, we have managed to build society, in which free and democratic atmosphere reigns and political stability and national unity are provided,” the president said.
