DUSHANBE, December 15, 2015, Asia-Plus – Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda has sacked chiefs of the traffic police departments of the city of Khorog and the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) and reprimanded the chief of the Interior Ministry’s office in Gorno Badakhshan and his deputies for shortcomings in their jobs.
On Tuesday December 15, Rahimzoda held a meeting in Khorog, the capital of Gorno Badakhshan to discuss measures to prevent grave crimes in the region and streamline traffic in Khorog, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.
By minister’s order Tohir Kenjazoda, the chief of the GBAO traffic police department, and Izzatsho Shukurbek, the chief of the Khorog traffic police department, were sacked for failure to do their jobs properly.
The GBAO police directorate chief Abdulvahhob Iskandarzoda and his deputies were reprimanded and given a month to improve the situation.
Chiefs of the traffic police stations in the GBAO districts were also reprimanded. They were warned that more strict measures would be taken against them if they fail to implement their duties in future.
